534 BEDS and 1 BATHTUB
For two months, photographer Roy Tzidon lived in Room 412—the only one with a bathtub—at Amsterdam’s famously no-frills Hans Brinker Budget Hotel. Guests, staff, and street performers were invited to bathe in exchange for being photographed. The resulting book and exhibition turned this cheeky endurance project into an unforgettable piece of self-aware marketing for “the worst hotel in the world.” AFTER ALL, authenticity always cleans up.
